Haption: open position as Research Engineer
Our EuroVR member Haption has an open position as Research Engineer for their German office in Aachen.
Haption designs force-feedback devices for applications of Virtual Reality and robotics. Our products are used in industry for interacting with CAD models (assembly validation, maintenance planning) or for training manual skills, especially medical.
Position
This position is open as part of Haption’s participation to the collaborative research project DynamicHIPS, funded by the German federal ministry for education and research (BMBF). You will be in charge of the adaptation of a standard haptic device to the specific requirements of the project, including mechanical, electrical and software modifications and optimizations.
Candidate profile
You have a dynamic character and like to work independently. You want to invest your energy into a high-tech project, as part of a small team with a strong expertise and motivation. You have an engineering degree, master or equivalent, and a solid experience of C++ programming.
Some knowledge of control theory and robotics is mandatory, as well as some background in mechanical design. A previous experience in robotics is helpful.
You will need reasonably good writing skills for the production of the documents, as well as a good level in English and/or German (written and oral) for the interaction with the project partners.
